Oxford Journals is a division of Oxford University Press, which is a department of Oxford University. They publish well over 200 academic and research journals covering a broad range of subject areas, two-thirds of which are published in collaboration with learned societies and other international organizations.

Their mission, as part of the University, is to bring the highest quality research to the widest possible audience.

Oxford University Press has been publishing journals for more than a century, and as part of the world’s oldest and largest university press, have more than 500 years of publishing expertise behind them.

Working in partnership

Oxford Journals is working with over 100 society partners to maximize the global reach of journals published by us on their behalf. Oxford also engage with librarians through advisory groups and other means to ensure that Oxford continue to meet their changing needs.

Oxford endeavour to provide their authors with an excellent level of service, including licences which allow their research to be as widely disseminated as possible.

Providing quality and value

An integral part of Oxford scholarly mission is to publish journals of the highest quality, which is demonstrated by their impact factor rankings. According to the 2007 Journal Citation Reports, one fifth of the titles are in the top 10% and over two thirds in the top 50% of their subject category. Oxford journals are great value as well as high quality. LISU’s 2007 study of eleven leading publishers reveals that in 2006 Oxford Journals had the lowest price per page and the lowest price per point of impact factor.
